About the Business
Lovely Sofas is owned and operated by Saxon Furniture Limited, a family owned British company that has been expertly hand-crafting traditional quality sofas for 30 years. The business was started all the way back in 1982, when a man and his white van, well Robert actually and his wife Teresa, travelled the length and breadth of the country meeting people and taking orders, then coming back to Lancashire to make hand crafted sofas and chairs. Only when the furniture was delivered to the customer's home and everyone was happy, would payment be taken.
These days we still only ask for a 10% deposit, and we still offer the option of payment on delivery. All our furniture is handmade, at our workshop in Lancashire, by our very own experienced team of time-served upholsterers, seamstresses and fabric cutters. In fact many of our skilled craftsmen have grown up with the business, and what they don't know about making a perfectly lovely sofa, just isn't worth knowing.
